MBUSI State Privacy Notice

Disclosure

This State Privacy Notice (this “State Notice”) supplements the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (“MBUSI”) Privacy Notice and is provided pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (“VCDPA”), Colorado Privacy Act (“CPA”), Connecticut Data Privacy Act (“CTDPA”), and Utah Consumer Privacy Act (“UCPA”). 

We reserve the right to amend this State Notice at our discretion and at any time. When we make changes to this State Notice, we will post the updated notice on the Site and update the State Notice’s effective date. Your continued use of our Website following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes. 

This State Notice does not apply to employment-related personal information collected from California/ Virginia/Colorado/Connecticut/Utah -based employees, job applicants, contractors, or similar individuals. Where noted in this State Notice, the state data protection laws temporarily exempt personal information reflecting a written or verbal business-to-business communication (“B2B personal information”) from some of its requirements.

Information We Collect and Share from States’ Residents

MBUSI does not sell nor share for cross-textual advertising purpose any personal information collected from California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah Residents. The below chart reflects the categories of personal information we may have collected from California consumers (except exempt employment and B2B personal information) over the past twelve months, the categories of sources from which the information was collected, the business or commercial purpose for which the information was collected, and the categories of third parties with whom we have shared that information for a business purpose.

We obtain this personal information from the following categories of sources:

  • Directly from you when you provide written information to us through the Site.
  • Indirectly from you when we observe your IP address, operating system, browser type, and other technical information. Please review the “Cookies” section of our Privacy Notice for additional information.
  • From social networks, in accordance with their respective privacy policies and terms of service.
Consumer Requests

California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah residents have the right to request 

  • that we disclose 
    • the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected, used, disclosed, and sold during the past twelve months, 
    • the categories of sources from which their personal information was collected, 
    • our business or commercial purposes for collecting or selling their personal information, and 
    • the categories of third parties with whom we shared their personal information;
  • deletion of the personal information we have collected from them. 

California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut residents have the right to request

  • Correction of the personal information we have collected from them. 

You can submit a request here. In order to respond to your request, we will need to collect additional personal information from you in order to verify your identity and residency. The personal information that we use to verify your identity and residency will not be used for any other purpose. Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child, but please note that we do not have actual knowledge that we collect, disclose, or sell information regarding any minor under the age of 16. Your request must include sufficient detail to allow us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it. 

Making a verifiable consumer request does not require you to create an account with us. [However, we do consider requests made through your password protected account sufficiently verified when the request relates to personal information associated with that specific account.]

We do not discriminate against California residents who exercise their CCPA privacy rights.
